| 'Philippine Boa' 'Sandara Park', debuts as an actress with 'Iljimae'
Sandara Park, actress and singer, who is also well known for being the Philippine Boa, will make her first official appearance on Korean television.
Sandra's debut will be on January of 2009, on MBC's Wed-Thurs drama, Iljimae. She will be playing the role of 'Lee-Ye', and will be shown on the 6th episode as a special guest.
Sandara Park moved to the Philippines with her family when she was in the 5th grade and she placed 2nd on ABS-CBN's Star Circle Quest, a survival program. After this, she participated in movies, dramas and advertisements that was popular not only in the Philippines, but also in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, making her a star in South East Asia. She first made her appearance on Korean TV on KBS2, and was given the nickname 'Philippine Boa'. After her 3 year contract with ABS-CBN, she returned to Seoul, and has already been training to be an actress for a year.
Her management company stated that 'Iljimae is the first time that she will appear as an actress in front of her fans here in Korea, making it much more meaningful.' The also revealed that 'she is of course trained as an actress, and also in preparation to start activities as a singer'.
