Showdown of the girlgroups – 2NE1 and 4Minute to perform for the 1st time on Mnet M!Countdown on 18th June


Newcomer girl groups 2NE1 and 4Minute will come together for the 1st ‘confrontation’ coming 18th June.

They will be performing on Mnet M!Countdown coming 18th June, both 1st time on this music show for the 2 groups. It will be 2NE1’s first performance on this show since debut and will be the debut stage for group 4Minute.

YG Entertainment said on the 16th via phone interview, “We have decided for the girls to perform on M!Countdown coming 18th. But for the music shows this weekend, we have not yet decided about it.” All this while the girls have been performing just once a week to focus on the quality of their performance. Whether they will perform more than twice this week has not been confirmed

While 4Minute will also have their debut stage performing ‘Hot Issue’ on M!Countdown. They were also the top searched keywords on portal sites after their song was revealed yesterday.

4minutes + 2NE1 = 2NE5

Am I going blind or does 4minute (above) really do look like 2NE1 (below)? If you didn’t know there were two separate groups you can easily get confused. So much for originality.

But people must be getting confused or wanting more of the 80’s flashy neon look because 4minute’s debut single, “Hot Issue” is a runaway hit on Cyworld online music chart with a whopping growth rate of 74,900%! Whoa! Where does that leave 2NE1?

Well, if they both want to dominate the Korean pop scene, they should just join forces and rename themselves- 2NE5

Then everyone will be happy.

@neko: yeah, I notice that also esp. their rings/clothes it's like they are almost the same, while the sound of hot issue is a bit digitally sound like fire FIRE's audio is way much better though). I like also "4minutes" but I guess 2ne1 has more crispy talents. Can't wait for their showdown this Sunday. BTW 4 minutes is from Cube Entertainment.

Maybe using "Neon Looks" for girl groups is the latest trend now in Korea or maybe because it's much more appealing by the viewing public? Whatever... I'm for 2NE1.

2NE1's still the best for me..lol They have this exciting aura lingering in them..but when i watched 4Minute's debut it's kinda..a bit not hot there...
